Throughout the year alpha tau holds many drives to benefit various organizations in the houston area. the first drive of the year was a clothing drive to help our local goodwill chapter. brothers worked to organize drop off points and designing flyers. we accepted donations from all students, faculty, and staff, and filled almost three trash bags full of jackets, blankets, shirts, and jeans. our second drive of the year was a teddy bear drive to donate to the houston police department. police officers keep the animals with them and present them to children who have suffered through a traumatic experience. the drive was not limited to only teddy bears, but any stuffed animals that were new or "gently loved." the toys were collected over a month period, and we collected approximately twenty stuffed animals for the houston police department. this spring alpha tau held a drive for ronald mcdonald house rmh ; during the month of march. unlike our other drives, this one had specific requests. the "wish list' provided by rmh contained requests for supplies needed to maintain the house from day to day, such as cleaning materials, paper goods, batteries, food, etc. a large box of various items was collected from the college, and rmh wrote a letter to our chapter expressing their gratitude. with the continuing success of our drives, alpha tau is truly proud of what have provided for the community. we only hope to add more drives to our annual line to better help the community and download free poker.
